DTAA Basketball offers competition teams for Grades 3-8. We play in the North Hunterdon Basketball League with games scheduled against local townships including Franklin, Clinton, Kingwood, Bethlehem, Del Val, and Union.

Divisions and teams are split by grade as follows:

• Girls 3/4
• Boys 3/4
• Girls 5/6
• Boys 5/6
• Girls 7/8
• Boys 7/8

Practice Locations and Times

All practices are held at the Delaware Township School gym located at 501 Rosemont Ringoes Rd, Stockton, NJ.

Teams practice twice per week Monday - Friday.

 

Times

DTAA is not permitted in the gym/cafeteria until 6:30pm.

There are two practice sessions available per day. The younger teams take the earliest time slot.

Example practice schedules:

• Mon/Wed - 6:30pm - 7:45pm
• Tues/Fri - 6:30pm - 7:45pm
• Tues/Thurs - 7:45pm - 9:00pm

 

Final practice schedules will be determined once teams and coaches are finalized.

 

Game Locations and Times

Home games are held at the Delaware Township School gym located at 501 Rosemont Ringoes Rd, Stockton, NJ.

Games are played on Saturdays and can begin at any of the following times: 9:00am, 10:15am, 11:30am, 12:45pm, 2:00pm.

In case of cancellation due to weather, makeup games may be played on a weeknight.

For Grades 5-6 and 7-8, playoff games may be played on a weeknight.

Away games are played at local township schools and gyms. Some townships may have games beginning at 9:00am.

 

Equipment and Uniforms

All players will receive a reversible basketball jersey. Players should wear athletic sneakers and shorts. Players must bring their own water bottle. All water bottles should be labeled with the player's name.

 

Basketballs

Teams will be provided with practice and game basketballs. The following sizes are used:

• Girls grades 3-8: size 6 or 28.5"
• Boys grades 3-6: size 6 or 28.5"
• Boys grades 7-8: size 7 or 29.5"

Jerseys

Please use the following size guide when determining size for your player during registration.

Jewelry and Accessories

Players must remove all accessories from their body before entering the court including: watches, earrings, necklaces, wristbands, and other wearables.

 

Hoop Height

All competition teams play using regulation 10' hoops.

 

League Rules

The following rules are developed by the North Hunterdon Basketball League. Please review them carefully as there are differences between grade levels. This is a developmental league. We want the players to learn and have fun. All players should receive a similar amount of playing time regardless of skill level.

All games will have hired referees to enforce the league rules. Only one referee is required for Grade 3-4. Two referees are required for Grades 5-6 and Grades 7-8.
