Work Bond Requirements, Effective 2025
Delaware Township Athletic Association (DTAA) is a 100% volunteer-run association. We rely on the work of all of our members to ensure that our sports run as smoothly as possible for the youth of our community.
There are two (2) required bonds: one for work (see list) and one for the Snack Shack.
Our bonds are established to ensure that all families put in a small amount of time to assist with the operation of our all-volunteer league that benefits our children.
What is the Bond?
A bond is two checks made out to DTAA when your child plays Baseball, Softball, and/or Soccer. Payments will not be processed unless the requirements of the work bond and/or
snack shack bond are not fulfilled.
How much are the Bonds?
Starting in 2025, PER SEASON (Spring and Fall):
-the work bond is $100
-the snack shack bond is $200
Players will not be rostered and uniforms will not be distributed until the two bond checks are received.
Upon registering for a sport, both checks must be made to DTAA and mailed to:
PO Box 107, Sergeantsville, NJ 08557
How can I satisfy the requirements of the Work Bond?
A family with one child playing a sport must complete 1 SHIFT of volunteer work.
A family with multiple children must complete 2 SHIFTS of volunteer work.
This includes spring field prep, fall field clean-up, pre-game and post-game field maintenance, and coaching. See the list below for more specific items.
How can I satisfy the requirements of the Snack Shack Bond?
A family with one child playing a sport must complete 2 SHIFTS of shack work.
A family with multiple children must complete 3 SHIFTS of shack work. The Snack Shack coordinator will email a list of shift opportunities at the beginning of each season.
It will be your responsibility to swap with another parent if you cannot make your assigned shift (as well as notify the Snack Shack coordinator immediately). Weather cancellations do not result in one less shift, unless there are no shifts left to replace it with.
When are the shifts due?
Each bond is per season, so all shifts must be completed by the end of the enrolled season. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, contact DTAASport@gmail.com.
Checks will be cashed for families who have not completed their shifts after the close of the appropriate season.
Additional Bond Information
The bond requirement does not increase for children who play multiple sports in a season.
Board Members and Head Coaches are exempt from the work bond. Assistant Coaches are responsible for Snack Shack shifts only (1 SHIFT for one child and 2 SHIFTS for families with multiple children).
How will the progress of my Work Bond be tracked?
Make sure you register through the appropriate Signup Genius forms and attend your selected shifts.
Can I just pay the Bonds so I don't have to complete shifts?
Yes, you may authorize to have your bond checks cashed immediately or pay via credit card if you do not wish to complete the bond shifts for the corresponding season.
What happens if I don't complete the required shifts?
You may choose to authorize payment upfront if you do not wish to complete bond shifts, otherwise, your payment will be processed by the end of that sport season if you do not fulfill all of your bond requirements. We will not prorate the bonds for partially completed. You will receive an email from the Board informing you that your check will be cashed.
